The Lord of Sipan

In 1987 Peruvian archaeologists discovered the tomb of the Lord of Sipan, for the first time a ruler of ancient Peru showed the world all its mystery and majesty. This discovery is considered among the greatest archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century.

Lord of Sipan was a high dignitary of the Mochica Culture, he ruled Lambayeque people during the A.D. 100 to 200.

His status and authority were inherited and he must have been part of a sacred elite that supported their power as descendants of the divinities.
